Palestinian prisoner close to death in Israeli jail

As reported recently, Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails have been undertaking protest actions for a long time over the issues of repression and occupation. One of the tactics used is to undertake a hunger strike. This week the news came out that Mohammed Allaan, a Palestinian lawyer, being detained without charge in an Israeli prison slipped into a coma after weeks on a hunger strike. His case is a travesty of justice and is another outcome of Israel’s occupation of Palestine. Mohammed’s case has been taken up by the International Lawyers Guild which is calling for the immediate release of Mohammed Allaan. An emergency protest has been called for Tuesday the 18th of August outside UN headquarters in New York.
