Recently 30,000 workers signed a petition against the national increase to the minimum wage because it is totally inadequate and will keep millions of Iranian workers and their families in poverty and deprivation. The Mechanical Metal Workers Union of Iran has also put out a statement protesting the level of the minimum wage.
