Situation for asylum seekers worsen in Australia

With the election of a new conservative government in Australia, the situation for asylum seekers has become even worse than it was before. The Liberal/National coalition Government has stated that it will try and turn any incoming boats back to the high seas, any asylum seekers that will arrive by boat will be denied legal advice, they will be transferred for an indefinite period to PNG and Nauru, while asylum seekers already in Australia who are still waiting for an assessment will now only be able to get temporary visas. Human rights and labour activists are planning to fight these new repressive laws.
