Workers call for a working class response against imperialist bombing of Syria

With the internal conflict in Syria now in its third year and around 2 million refugees from the conflict, the situation for workers and their communities is being further endangered by the stated aim of the USA to bomb Syria. While this bombing is couched in the language of democracy and freedom, the experiences of Afghanistan and Iraq show that the only reason the USA wants to use its military might is to extend its influence in the region. While many groups are opposing repression and dictatorship within Syria, there is no trust or faith in the role of the USA.

A joint statement has been put out by working class organisations inside Syria and in neighbouring countries against USA involvement.

Regionally, the Pakistan Awami Workers Party, and the International Alliance in Support of Workers in Iran (and in Farsi), have re-affirmed the need for an independent working class response in Syria.

In addition, other labour organisations in the USA, and the Public Services International have also opposed USA military intervention.

The workers united will never be defeated.
