New record of repression set in Thailand with new Lese Majeste sentences

As reported previously, the military regime in Thailand is continuing to repress any sign of dissent as well as systematically rewriting history to erase past crimes. This week, the military sank to new lows with a number of new convictions under the draconian Lese Majeste law. A mentally ill man was sentenced to 5 years in jail for destroying a portrait of the King, a woman was given a 28 years sentence for posting messages on Facebook, while a man was sentenced to 30 years in jail for social media posts. It is clear that the fight to abolish Lese Majeste is central in the struggle for democracy in Thailand.
No to the military!
Free all political prisoners!
