Indonesian paper workers on strike again against global giant

Workers at the Asia Pulp and Paper (APP) – Sinar Mas factories in Karawang district, West Java are once again taking industrial action.  There has been an ongoing series of disputes around pay and conditions that led to strikes in 2012 and earlier in 2014. This action follows a breakdown in negotiations over pay and intimidation against union activists. To defeat global companies like APP, co-ordinated industrial actions in sites across different countries will be the most effective strategy.
