Housing protests in Israel

A very radical series of protests over housing costs has been taking place in Israel.

A crucial issue is how these protests will intersect with the Palestinian rights movement, and how much they will link up with the democratic rights uprisings taking place in Egypt and Syria.

Meanwhile the Boycott, Sanctions and disinvestment (BDS) movement against Israeli apartheid continues to gain support. Another march in Melbourne targeted the Max Brennan stores, where 19 activists were arrested on 1 July for protesting against Israel and its oppression of the Palestinian people.
