Pakistan union condemns proposed job cuts

The Pakistan Labour Federation (PLF) has condemned a planned restructure in the Pakistan Telecommunication Company where 16,000 jobs are to be slashed. This comes on top of the shedding of tens of thousands of other positions in 2008 when the company was privatised. The PLF sees this new manoeuvre as an attempt by the company to weaken union membership within the workforce.
