Major construction union in Australia faces massive fine for its activities

Amid continuing pressure on the union movement, the Victorian branch of the CFMEU – the union covering construction workers, was fined AUS $1.25 Million. This penalty was for the CFMEU’s attempts to defend the health and safety standards of workers at a major construction site in Melbourne.
