Fight against Article 112 in Thailand continues

In the same week that a Hong Kong human rights organisation has publicly protested against Article 112 in Thailand, Ms. Paphachanan Ingchan was sentenced to 3 years in prison under this draconian law. In addition, another activist in exile, Junya Lek Yimpresert, has been charged under Article 112. Next week, an international delegation, headed by former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, will travel to Thailand as part of an ongoing political reconciliation process. It is important that the use of Article 112 to jail political opponents, like labour activist and journalist, Mr. Somyot Prueksakasemsuk, is not forgotten in this process.
