Alcoa workers to take action at a global level

The Alcoa Company is a global giant – it’s the world’s leading producer of aluminum as well as the largest miner of bauxite, with a presence in over 30 countries. Workers in Alcoa have now started to organise internationally by forming the ‘Global Network of Unions at Alcoa’. For a week in mid September, workers will take action at many Alcoa sites over pay, conditions and the right to organise. The formation of this network is a great step forward for workers everywhere as it starts to harness the power of workers at a global level instead of allowing the company to divide us along national lines.
