At least 24 Afghan mineworkers murdered while working in a coal mine

There 13 million unemployed Afghanis, which translates to an unemployment rate of approximately 80%, but workers face life threatening hazards every day. Not only do workers get killed because of military operations, but their workplaces are often very hazardous. Just last week, at least 24 mine workers were killed at the Abkhorak mine in northern Samangan province when a tunnel collapsed.
