Fiji workers need support

In July a delegation from the Fiji Trades Union Congress visited Australia and New Zealand to ask for solidarity against new repressive measures against workers being enacted by the Fiji government.

Upon their return to Fiji, FTUC president Daniel Urai and fellow union official Dinesh Goundar were arrested for having participated in the trip to ask for solidarity. The Australian Congress of Trade Unions has protested against these arrests and has asked for solidarity to stop further repression against workers in Fiji. More info here.
