Workers at Coles keep fighting for wages

The giant Coles supermarket chain in Australia has a track record of doing deals with yellow unions to weaken its workforce and drive down wages and conditions. Workers in the northern Australian state of Queensland are fighting an ongoing battle against a new wage agreement that would leave them earning below the minimum wage. On the 10 December, Coles workers will take action to demand that a new legal wage structure be implemented immediately instead of waiting till sometime in 2016. A similar rally in Melbourne will be on Friday 11 December, at Coles Supermarket, corner Elizabeth & Flinders St, Melbourne at 4pm.  See leaflet for more details.
