Victory for Anganwadi workers in India

Last week we brought you news of the struggle of the Anganwadi workers.  This week, we bring you news of their victory.  After 23 days of struggle and 7 days of indefinite hunger strike, Anganabdi workers won all of their demands of the New Delhi. The workers had been demanding the payment of unpaid wages. Most of the workers had not received their honorarium for 8-9 months and a number of families were facing the prospect of starvation because many Anganwadi women workers are the sole earners in their family.  The struggle ended in a victory march.
