The fight against Thailand’s Lese Majeste continues

With the recently formed ‘Network of Family members and People affected by the Article 112’ (the Lese Majeste law), activists are continuing to campaign for the release of arrested people. Last month, charges were dropped against Chotisak Onsoong and his friend who were arrested for not standing up for the national anthem while at the cinema.

Meanwhile, on the 24 July, a representative of the International Federation for Human Rights, made their first official visit to Bangkok Remand Prison to visit Somyot and other political prisoners of the Lese Majeste Law. The campaign to free Somyot continues with the 19th of September his next scheduled court appearance.
