Syngenta workers still fighting against union busting

In a long running dispute that began almost four years ago at the Swiss company of Syngenta, fifty workers are still fighting to have their contracts made permanent, while the sacked union leader is also still battling to get his job back. Syngenta is a global company specialising in the production of herbicides and pesticides. This is not the only case of union busting in Pakistan where workers often face brutal repression from both the government and employers. For the Pakistani workers of Syngenta, industrial action by workers at other Syngenta workplaces would be the most effective solidarity action.
