Repression of Indian workers at Maruti Suzuki continues

A local human rights organisation based in New Dehli, India, has recently produced a report detailing the wave of repression unleashed against workers following the death of a manager at the Maruti Suzuki factory. The Peoples Union for Democratic Rights (PUDR) report states that 150 workers are still in jail, many of these were arrested solely for their union activities, whole communities were harassed by the police and hired thugs, and many of those in jail have been tortured.
