Railway workers dismissed for being unionists

The State Railway of Thailand this week dismissed seven union leaders for joining a work stoppage in 2009 about health and safety issues. Thai trade unionists see this as an attempt to crush a trade union that was active in looking after its members. An international campaign initiated by the International Transport Federation is continuing.
