Protests continue in South Korea over suicide and precarious work

As reported last week, the suicide of Mr. Choi Jong-beom, struck a chord with many other workers in relation to the precarious nature and intensity of their workplaces. This week, the reason behind Choi’s death was one of the themes of the annual workers march to commemorate the anniversary of the suicide of Jeon Tae-il in 1970.  For images, click here; for video click here. This year over 50,000 workers took part in this demonstration, reflecting the widespread discontent of Korean workers across a variety of industries.
