Indian workers at New Delhi hospital score an important win

Earlier this month, over 40 contract workers at the Hedgewar Hospital in Delhi started an indefinite sit in inside the hospital compound. They were all contract workers whose contracts were suddenly terminated. After a week, the workers were successful as the local government was afraid that the actions could spread to other hospitals. While these workers have won their jobs back, their fight for permanent employment and against union busting keeps going. In a separate dispute, over 20,000 power loom workers went on strike in the state of Tamil Nadu over a wage dispute.
