Five bank workers’ associations combined to protest against Indian government plans to repeal the Bank Nationalisation Act and reduce government holdings in Public Sector Banks to less than 50%. Currently there are 21 Public Sector Banks in India, but these are the target of neo-liberal reformers, like the new president elect Narendra Modi.
