Hunger strike by Palestinian puts pressure on Israel

Bilal Kayed is a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Recently Bilal had completed his jail sentence of over 14 years. Once completed, the Israeli government handed him another 6 months administrative detention. Bilal has now been on hunger strike for almost two months. Bilal’s situation has attracted mass support from other Palestinian prisoners, human rights activists as well as the Tunisian General Labour Union. Solidarity protests around the world are planned in the coming days. The massive incarceration of Palestinians by the Israeli state is a symptom of the continuing Israeli occupation and repression of Palestinians.
