Unions organise in the aftermath of the Karachi factory fire

Amid calls for the government of Pakistan to regulate OHS after the horrific Karachi factory fire, a coalition of trade unions and community groups are taking action themselves. Over 70 organisations have come together to form the ‘Workers Rights Movement’ (WRM). This group believes that only workers and pro workers segment of society's joint resistance can change the situation in favour of working class. The WRM is calling for compensation for all affected workers and their families, the arrest of the factory owners, and the confiscation of their wealth.
