Turkish airline workers continue fight – Say no to the ‘Race to the bottom’

It has been over a year since 305 union members were dismissed by Turkish Airlines for taking industrial action. Following on from the co-ordinated international activities of earlier this month, further support has been expressed by international confederations of unions, click here and here. The fight by Hava Is for their members is part of a global effort by workers to resist the race to the bottom that is driven by airline companies’ quest for profits. In Australia this week, company threats of major job losses led workers to offer more concessions to Qantas airlines.
