Palestinian hunger strikers continue their battle against illegal detention

Israel’s use of administrative detention as a tool of repression has been well documented. Nevertheless, hundreds of Palestinians continue to suffer. One of the few ways that Palestinian prisoners have to fight back is by going on hunger strikes. Kayed Fawzi Abu Rish has been on hunger strike for over a month while more have joined in the last couple of weeks. The underlying issue is the ongoing occupation of Palestinian land and the daily abuses that Palestinians are subjected to. An important new avenue of international solidarity is now coming from the growing anti racist movement in the USA.
