Laos produces first ever national asbestos strategy

Asbestos is a naturally occurring substance that is still used in construction and manufacturing worldwide.  Pressure from working class organisations and activists have led to a sharp reduction in its use due to the extreme dangers asbestos fibres pose to people. Laos has now just produced a national strategy that seeks to minimise the use of asbestos and prevent people dying from exposure to its fibres.
