Garment workers demand pay and freedom for arrested comrades

On the anniversary of International Women’s Day, March 8, tens of thousands of garment workers held a peaceful assembly in Freedom Park in the ongoing quest for a living wage and an end to repression. If there are no meaningful negotiations with the Government, a nationwide strike has been called for the 12th of March. To prepare and organise for the struggle ahead, the unions are looking for donations for a strike fund. To donate contact Joel Preston or Asia Floor Wage Southeast Asia Coordinator. These mobilisations are also in support for 23 jailed activists from earlier protests, click here for new video.
