Free our comrades in Malaysia

On 25 June 2011 31 Socialist Party of Malaysia (PSM) activists were arrested at Kepala Batas, and on 26 June 2011 30 were remanded for 7 days to be investigated "for waging war against the King." The activists were arrested in connection to a mass mobilisation (called Bersih 2) in support of free and fair elections.
After a 10 days remand 24 of them were charged under the Internal Security Act for being in possession of subversive documents. On July 2, at the end of the remand period, the police released 6 of the detainees including Dr. Jeyakumar-PSM Member of Parliament, M.Saraswathy – the party’s National Deputy Chairperson, Choo Chon Kai – Central Committee Member and three others from all charges. But they were immediately rearrested under the draconian Emergency Ordinance (EO) which allows for detention without trial.
