Disputes continue in the Airlines industry

Workers at Turkish Airlines have been on strike since May 15 against the company’s fierce anti union and union busting tactics.  Hava Is, the union representing workers in the airlines industry in Turkey requested that management enter into negotiations over the next Collective Bargaining Agreement.  The union is demanding wage increases, scientifically determined rest periods and for the decision in the 305 case to be followed. In order to get around the union’s industrial action, Turkish Airlines is flying without sufficient numbers of cabin crew, and with under qualified staff.

In the Philippines, PALEA, the union representing workers in the airlines industry is continuing its struggle against Philippines Airlines.  The workers have held their ground for almost two years, commencing the struggle on 24 September 2011.  They need financial support to sustain the picket line.  Please help them win this fight! Unions and individuals can pay by pay pal or directly using these details.
