Cambodian garment workers strike for a living wage

The campaign by garment workers for a living wage of US $177/month has seen a number of actions in the last few weeks culminating in the global day of action on 10 December. In addition to mobilisations in Cambodia itself, a number of solidarity actions were held around the world (see here, here, here and here). The garment sector is a globalised industry and workers need to organise their actions globally in order to effectively counter the Race to the Bottom by giant retail companies like H&M, GAP, Levi's and Zara.
