For the first time in 15 years, Australia will host the Pacific Islands Forum in 2009, with regional leaders meeting in Cairns in the first week of August.

Journalist Nic Maclellan will discuss how Pacific workers and indigenous communities are responding to the Rudd government’s policies on climate change, regional free trade, labour mobility and the political crisis in Fiji.
